PGA Tour could start drug testing in 2008; LPGA gets new Singapore event
PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem has said the tour could institute a performance-enhancing drug testing program as early as next year. Finchem updated the Player Advisory Council on the tour’s progress Monday …
“We believe now that we’ll complete work on a policy this year, and the elements of the policy could very well be executed during ‘08,” Finchem told the media at the Deutsche Bank Championship.
The LPGA Tour will have a new event in Singapore next year, the HSBC Women’s Champions. The event will be held Feb. 28-March 2, with a field of 78 players …
Meanwhile, Marc Warren shot an 8-under-par 65 yesterday for a one-stroke lead at the Johnnie Walker Championship. Warren, the 2006 rookie of the year on the European Tour, shot eight birdies at the Centenary Course at Gleneagles …
