Furyk tied for lead at AT&T National, while Tiger Woods struggles

At one under par, Jim Furyk and four others lead after the first round of the inaugural AT&T National. Host Tiger Woods shot seven bogies yesterday for a 3-over 73. He is in 77th place …

“It’s one of the worst putting rounds I’ve had in years,” Woods told the media.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Romero, a protégé of U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera, shot a 6-under 66 yesterday to go ahead of the field at the U.S. Senior Open at Whistling Straits. Romero’s 66 ties him for the fourth-best opening round score in U.S. Senior Open history ….

It would suck pretty bad if Tiger misses the cut at a tournament he is hosting. Hopefully he will go low tomorrow.
