Tiger Woods wife Elin hospitalized during U.S. Open; Lorena Ochoa up to host LPGA tourney
In a press conference prior to his new tournament, the AT&T National, Tiger Woods told reporters that his wife Elin was forced to spend time in the hospital with complications during the weekend of the U.S. Open, prior to giving birth to the couple’s first child, Sam Alexis.
“It wasn’t life-threatening or anything, but she just had a few problems and had to be admitted. It wasn’t easy. It was not easy, because I wanted to be there. And the doctor and Elin said, ‘There’s nothing you can do. So go out there and just get a “W.’
“Well, came close. But that night was infinitely more rewarding than any ‘W’ ever could have been, said Woods. …
It may be Lorena Ochoa’s turn to host an LPGA Tour event, as the World’s No. 1 female golfer’s brother and agent, Alejandro Ochoa said an agreement is near for her to host an official tournament that would be held in Nov. 2008 at Guadalajara Country Club, her home golf course.
