U.S. Open final round has Baddeley in lead, Tiger Woods, others lurking
With one round to go in the U.S. Open, Aaron Baddeley looks to become the second consecutive Australian to take home the title as he takes a two-shot lead into the final 18 holes at Oakmont.
Saturday’s round was all about Tiger Woods,however, as his score of 69 belied his brilliant play, with several putts lipping out throughout the day. Woods starts the day in the final pairing with Baddeley, two shots back at 4-over.
Bubba Watson, Paul Casey, Justin Rose and Stephen Ames are three shots off the lead at 5-over. With a 68, Steve Stricker shot the round of the day, leaving him four shots back of the lead. Defending champion Geoff Ogilvy saw his chances of a repeat fade away with a third-round 78, leaving him at 14-over.
