Pettersen leads LPGA Championship as Wie makes cut; Scott pulls away at St. Jude Classic

Suzanne Pettersen, who fell apart down the stretch at the Kraft Nabisco, takes a one-shot lead over Karrie Webb at the LPGA Championship. Brittany Lincicome and Birdie Kim are tied for third, one shot off the pace. Annika Sorenstam, Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel were all at 5-under, three shots back. Lorena Ochoa enters the weekend six shots back, while Michelle Wie holds on to play the weekend, but is 11 shots back.

Adam Scott has a one-shot lead after two rounds at the St. Jude Classic. At 7-under, Scott leads Andrew Buckle and Brian Gay by a shot at the PGA Tour’s Memphis stop. …

The groupings for the first two rounds were announced for the U.S. Open, with Tiger Woods and defending champion Geoff Ogilvy one of the top pairings. Phil Mickelson will be in a “group of death” of sorts, as he’s been paired with Adam Scott and Jim Furyk, while Jose Maria Olazabal, Sergio Garcia and Pablo Martin will have an all-Spaniard group.
