Angela Park, Yu Ping Lin, and Silvia Cavalleri have the lead after the second round of the Corona Morelia Championship in Morelia, Mexico. In her first tournament as the new No. 1 female player in the world and in her home nation, Lorena Ochoa has struggled, shooting a 74 on Friday and sitting five shots back.

Michelle Wie will not be attempting to qualify for the 2007 U.S. Open, as she wasn’t among the 8,544 golfers to submit qualifying applications for this year’s event, the USGA said.

Luke Donald shot his 10th consecutive round in the 60s at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, with his 66 being enough for him to take the lead heading to weekend play. Donald sits at 7-under, one shot up first-round leader Sean O’Hair, defending champion Brett Wetterich and Frederik Jacobson. Vijay Singh leads a group four shots back, while Phil Mickelson is six shots off the pace after a second-round 70. …

Henrik Bjornstad shot a second-round 65 to take a one-shot lead midway through the Nationwide Tour’s Henrico County Open. Todd Demsey, Todd Fischer, Michael Letzig and Nick Flanagan are in second place, a shot back. …

England’s Stuart Little shot a 69 to take a one-stroke lead at the Spanish Open, where rain has slowed play, with only 38 of the 155-man field completing 36 holes. American Notah Begay didn’t get to play his second round, and remains at 4-under.

Actually, Mr. Little is no longer in the lead, as Grégory BOURDY has birdied 15-17 to take a one-shot advantage. This, however, does not diminish in any way the creativity of my blog entry of this morning, dedicated to Mr. Little.

Yet another update...Bourdy bogeyed 18, so the mouse is back in a tie for the lead at Madrid.
