The PGA Tour is in Louisiana this week for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. The tour stars will be playing a newly polished TPC Louisiana, which underwent $2 million of repairs for damages sustained during Hurricane Katrina …

“Obviously there was some devastation here and there was a lot of money spent to get this golf course up to speed,” David Toms, a 2001 winner in New Orleans, told journalists yesterday. “It’s very important for the whole country not to forget this city.”

At GolfEurope.com, Brandon Tucker writes about Ireland’s Ballyliffin Golf Club, calling its two golf courses, the Old Links and Glashedy Links, as rewarding as they are remote.
