Singh wins Arnold Palmer Invitational; Tom Purtzer comes out ahead at AT&T Champions Classic

Vijay Singh shot a final round 3-under-par 67 Sunday to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Rocco Mediate finished two strokes behind, and Tiger Woods didn’t make it into the top 20. Singh is now the first multiple winner on the PGA Tour this year …

Boo Weekley received a two-stroke penalty this weekend at the Arnold Palmer Invitational for, strangely enough, protecting his partner, Tom Johnson, from being penalized. Weekley made the mistake of removing the pin on one of Johnson’s chip shots so his ball wouldn’t hit the pin if it went in the hole. This would have cost Johnson two strokes, but it’s against the rules to remove the pin on another player’s shot without permission …
