PGA Tour Commissioner Finchem 'disappointed' over Woods and Mickelson's absence at Tour Championship
PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem said at a news conference yesterday he was disappointed that Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are not playing in this week’s Tour Championship. Woods announced his decision last week, while Mickelson usually plays a limited schedule after the PGA Championship in August …
“I’m against it,” Finchem said. “I’m disappointed, candidly. There’s no other way to characterize it.”
Meanwhile, Ernie Els is excited to have the opportunity to compete in the event this year. Els got himself a place in the Tour Championship, open only to the top-30 money winners on the tour, only last week by finishing well at the Chrysler Championship in Florida.
