Ashley Hoagland got a little closer to reaching her goal of making the LPGA Tour after winning the Hunters Oak Futures Golf Classic Aug. 20. The event, a part of the LPGA’s top development circuit, is Hoagland’s second professional title and puts her at 13th in the Future’s money rankings. Colin Montgomerie has confirmed he will play for Scotland in the World Cup of golf for the first time since 2001. Montgomerie’s participation means Scotland won’t have to qualify for the event, held in Barbados in December, because he is ranked in the top 100.
