Sunday August 20, 2006 | 07:06:13 pm 86 words, 3409 views

Tiger Woods went 4-under par over his first nine holes, effectively ending any drama, and won the PGA Championship by five shots over second-place Shaun Micheel …

The victory is major No. 12 for Woods, putting him past the great Walter Hagen, and leaving him second all-time behind the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus

Luke Donald, Mike Weir and Geoff Ogilvy all entered the final round within striking distance of Woods, but all shot over par. The win was Woods’ third PGA Championship title, and his second at Medinah.
