A great story. Matt Hasselbeck seems to be one of not many NFL top players with a good sense of humour and a down-to-earth approach to life.

Nice to see that, at the end of the day, you did not want to push things suggesting to go for a beer, and you did not ask for an autograph. I guess you will really remember the day as a perfect one.

So the "darling" of the golf press thinks he can just skip the first part of the Playoffs? IS that in the rules? How about Phil waiting till the 3rd week to show up? IF this is truly a play off then the conceited Woods should be there for every hole. Who made him a god? Maybe the top ranked team next March for the NCAA will just wait to show up for the Final Four. We all know Tiger can't play more than 2 weeks in a row without 4 weeks off. I'm sorry he isn't up to it, but if he is so great then he should just suck it up and prove it.

I stumbled across this article while searching for Hasselbeck's blog. What a great story, sounds like a ton of fun. It also sounds like Matt's a pretty ice dude.

What now Mr Meyers with your "Phil will win tour player of the year award over Tiger"?? Where is Mickelson now? He made a boboo in the US Open and never ever forgave himself. That is what I dont like with Phil Mickelson - he is not mentally tough enough to get over his past idiocies - he carries it with him to his next tournaments and disintegrates in front of the world.

I wonder why some of the fans ae bringing race in it. But then I do not undersyand how could u write off so quickly any young player with a superior record, better than legends like Gary player. Wow, Mr. Meyers! Can't imagine how you are feeling about that Feb 16 column now; now that Tiger Woods has just won his 52nd PGA tournament. Which by the way now equals Byron Nelson's total. Oh, also by the way, Tiger admitted himself that he didn't bring his 'A' game. Heck, he played his 'c' game [wayward shot onto the clubhouse, 4 straight bogeys in the 3rd round, and losing a 3 shot lead in the final 3 holes]. He still won.

10 years ago he introduced himself entering the professional ranks as 'Hello, world'. He now seems to be saying, 'goodbye' to all of his competition. He was easily beatable last week, but no one choose to step up to the plate and beat him.

Now if you were to write a column about Mr. Phil 'milktoast' Milkenson being 'finished' - I wholeheartedly concur.
