New Golf Tour Brings Interactivity to Golf...Finally!

There is coming to golf, beginning next week a new golf tour. Aptly named the Pro Team Golf League, begins its ascent into the hearts of minds of golfers world wide. According to their website:

The top 8 Canadian Tour golfers from the USA and Canada go against each other in modified match play. These international players will compete in the first ever Pro Team Golf League invitational – the first look into the high-level competition and fan-based cooperation that are the benchmarks of Pro Team Golf League.

Visitors to the website can sign up to become ProCoaches and participate in the pairings.
Teams are being developed throughout the USA and Canada at present, with 8 events and a playoff being scheduled for next year.
The Founders believe the format will create some real excitement, using a modified Ryder Cup format, and building team loyalties as well as give professional golfers on Tour a chance to build their Ryder Cup skills. Match play builds mental toughness, and develops your game much different than stroke play. Courage, imagination, and team play are exciting!

A course layout plays a major role in determining match-play strategies. Rose Hall is held by Golf Digest to be one of Jamaica’s finest golf courses. Between Cinnamon Hill and her sister course, the White Witch, the USA vs. Canada Team Match golfers will have their work cut out for them.

The Golf Channel will participate by recording this event for a future date airing.
The potential for communities to build teams, and for more sports fans to participate is fantastic.
A pretty dang ambitious project I’d say. Check it out.

Oh, I forgot to mention, Tom Lehman is the professional PGA spokesperson for this Tour. His comments are found on the home page of the Pro Tour Golf League.

You should be able to add that aside as an edit.
