It's good when players speak up when they're displeased, but it would be nice if some thought was put into it. A press conference is not the place to whine about a course or the rules. And the Pie Hole comment is amusing since Geoff is a founding owner in a pie making shop in Arizona...

Ogilvy has a great swing and the potential to hit great recovery shots. When hazards leave players no chance for recovery, i think that it's taking away from the tournament. Some of the most exciting shots in golf history are tiger's recovery shots, and when there's no potential for great shots to be made, people like angel cabrera win.

A fellow golfer in Scotland once answered my complaint about not being able to "recover" from deep fairway bunkers: "...when you hit your ball in water in Florida 2 feet from the fairway, do you get to recover ? At least here you get to hit the penalty shot back in the fairway."

And for a recent quote: "Shut your pie hole, you buffoon, and get back to playing." (Thanks Ron Mon).

At one point should he be penalized, at 1.5 yards offline? At 2? At 2.5? My god man, stop whining. You have to be penalized somewhere. Go join a club other than Whisper Rock and play the old men for pro shop credits if you don't want to use your God-given talents to challenge the best? Ogilvy sounded less petty when he owned the trophy. Shut your pie hole, you buffoon, and get back to playing.

As long as the top players are afraid to speak up, the USGA Idiots will continue to try and embarrass and humiliate great golfers. They must be real hackers that are jealous of the best Players in the world. They penalizer great shots and not only that they make it real difficult to recover as Olgivy said.
Of course there are also others who like to watch them suffer.(weekend hackers) I would not blame any golfer with guts if they chose not play the OPEN.

Yes BTuck. Even Ogilvy himself realizes that Geoff Ogilvy is a ridicuolous majors champion. Deep down, maybe he realizes he could never win a major with a legit setup.

He and Retief Goosen owe the blue blazers their careers.
