Oakmont&#039;s balance would be the key to its greatness.  The ditches are minor to me, while the greens are fairly common for the area (check out Fox Chapel and other, old-guard courses in the Pittsburgh area.)  How is the balance in the holes (left, right, straight)?  Reconvert the two par fours to par fives, and see how they play as three-shot, not two-shot, holes.&lt;br /&gt;

I hate metal coat hangers.  They&#039;re dangerous.  Nice point on the birdie fall-out.  I only thought about the guys who lost out, not about the guys who just jinged up.&lt;br /&gt;
