			<description>Portmarnock uses this system to help fairways recover over the winter months(usually dec - feb) - simply means you can drop your ball off the fairway onto the first cut of the rough if you wish - alternatively you can play off the fairway albeit off a supplied mat. It&#039;s a reasonable compromise, fairways get some respite, although not for club competitions, and golfers as you say get a good view  of the hole layout.</description>
