Shanks, I'll keep you posted. More than half my trip will be up north and the northwest, not making it down to Ballybunion, but County Down, Enniscrone, Portrush, and more. Kiel and Tim have recently hit the other favorites like K Club and Ballybunion.

I'm jealous. Have done a lot of research in preparation for my future trip to the Emerald Isle. More than anything, the info I get is that the top tier Irish courses outshine the top tier in Scotland, but that Scotland has a greater depth of quality. As I'm sure the O'Regans will testify, the golf in NW Ireland is loaded with what we Americans would call hidden gems. Carne, Enniscrone & County Sligo will no doubt be amongst the best links in the world.

You couldn't possibly write too much about this trip to satisfy my curiosity. Cheers!!
