'Golf the Island' package a fitting introduction to Canada's Prince Edward Island
With May upon us, its time to point your golf bag north towards some of the world’s great summer golf destinations, where the bent grass is a pure and the air is fresh.
Prince Edward Island is one of the many fine golf hotspots in Canada, located on the country’s eastern side and a quick flight from Montreal, Toronto or seasonally from some U.S. destinations like New York City.
So how do you experience a golf destination that boasts 32 courses, all within a pretty easy drive of one another?
The “Golf the Island” vacation package is a fulfilling option. The seven-night, six-round deal features rounds at some of the most popular golf courses on Prince Edward Island: Links at Crowbush Cove, Brudenell River, Mill River, Glasgow Hills, Andersons Creek and Dundarave.
You can access all six courses without needing to change accommodations. All seven nights in the package are hosted at the four-star Rodd Brudenell River Resort near the capital of Charlottetown. Located at the resort are two courses, Brudenell River and Dundarave, while the remaining four are all within an easy drive that will let you soak in some of the island’s coastline and famous lighthouses.
The package’s icing on the cake (err, lobster on the plate) is a lobster dinner included at New Glasgow Lobster Suppers, fitting for a destination loaded with seafood and farm-to-table culinary delights.
With long summer days, afternoon replays can certainly be added to the package. Or you can book tee times at GolfCanada.com’s Prince Edward Island destination guide. You could go online and book a few afternoon rounds once you arrive and possibly catch a discounted round that way.
The “Golf the Island” package starts at $1,199 per person. For shorter packages that make for a suitable long weekend trip from the northeast, click here.
