The Prince Course at Princeville Resort on Kauai closes for five-month renovation project
Another golf course on Kauai is going under the knife.
The Prince course at the Princeville Resort, considered by many rankings to be Kauai’s best, is closing to undergo a five-month renovation and upgrade project, set to reopen this summer (with no official date set yet).
Said Director of Golf Steve Murphy in a statement:
“We are proud of the Prince’s top ranking over the years, and these improvements will help us maintain the overall quality of the course and the first class guest experience.”
Kauai’s golf courses and resorts have been upgrading left and right in recent years, and the Prince course is one of the last to undergo its own enhancements. Poipu Bay Golf Course just reopened after reseeding its greens with paspalum turf, and Kauai Lagoons is nearing completion of its 27-hole transformation and currently open as well.
You can still play golf on the North Shore despite the closure of the Prince on the Makai Golf Club at St. Regis Princeville, which made the largest enhancement of all the courses on the island with a complete redesign. Due to its mix of both coastal holes, championship challenge but resort playability, I’d have to say its my favorite course on Kauai.
