Travel Video: Golf and wildlife in Australia on Queensland's Sunshine Coast
If this week’s Australian Open in Melbourne has you fishing around for some more Aussie tidbits, here’s a new travel video I just produced from my recent trip to Queensland.
Just north of Brisbane, a visit to the Sunshine Coast features the Hyatt Regency Coolum Resort, host of the Australian PGA Championship. After a morning round here, I headed a few minutes to Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo, one of the more interactive zoos on the planet.
The Hyatt Regency Coolum is home to its own birdlife, ‘roos and other little bush critters, but the Australia Zoo takes it up a notch. I joined the zoo’s Wayne Poole for a look around and he shared some insight on the zoo’s extraordinary mission. Here’s a look at some of the sights of a Queensland golf vacation:
Also pictured in the video is the brand new Hamilton Island Golf Club, and luxurious digs in the Whitsunday Islands at Hayman Island Resort.
The kangaroos hopping around in the opening shot are from Sanctuary Cove Golf Club, which has nearly 300 of them on the property down on the Gold Coast.
