Still plenty of time to book an Ireland links golf vacation in 2010
The summer months are coming to an end, but that shouldn’t mean that the door is closed on a 2010 links golf vacation. The upcoming Ryder Cup in Wales should have most of us itching for some golf in the U.K. or Ireland.
Thanks to online packagers, it takes a lot less planning time to book a trip abroad. What used to be a year in advance kind of deal can be done in a matter of weeks if you’re not too picky on the courses you play. You can take advantage of off-peak green fees and fall air fares tend to drop a bit as well. I visited Ireland in October last year and had suitable weather and tee sheets that were pretty open (except for Ballybunion - they’re usually stacked there).
One package today on WorldGolf.com courtesy of Carr Golf highlights some of the best links courses around Dublin as well as 2006 Ryder Cup host the K Club. Click here to view their 6 night/5 round Dublin links and Ryder Cup course package.
The trip, which starts at $1,607 USD features accommodations at Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links and two rounds golf at Portmarnock Links, plus the Island Club, Royal Dublin and the Palmer Course at the K Club. All the courses are located pretty close to one another and your hotel, which should leave you more time to take in the pubs of Dublin - an attraction rain or shine.
