Win free a free golf trip for two to Alberta's Canadian Rockies
A noteworthy free golf giveaway just came across my desk: a five-night, six-round giveaway, including rental car and accommodations for two in Alberta’s Canadian Rockies good for the summer of 2010.
I visited the six clubs in July, and they offer a wonderful mix of courses that all share one similar element: mountain golf in the heart of the Canadian wilderness. Few, if any destinations make you feel such a part of nature as here.
This golf destination isn’t new. The 1920s brought two Stanley Thompson courses, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and Fairmont Banff Springs. For fans of classical golf course architecture, both are a real treat and it will be up to you to decide which is better. I preferred Jasper Park by a nose.
A handful of modern golf courses have been added and are all worth traveling for. Two modern championship caliber courses, Stewart Creek and roller coaster Silvertip Golf Resort are making a name for themselves in nearby Canmore. And Kananaskis County Golf Course’s two Robert Trent Jones Sr. designs are wild, all natural layouts at the foot of the Rockies, where you’ll never know what kind of furry critters you’ll run into during a round there. The final course in the rotation is Canmore Golf & Curling Club, a local members course that’s less flashy but still a good test for it’s loyal membership, and offers limited public tee times.
It’s simple to enter. Visit CanadianRockiesGolf.ca and enter your email address, which will sign you up for the monthly newsletter. The winner will be drawn on October 30th.
