Twitter athletes like Shaq, John Daly, Natalie Gulbis, Danica make celeb life seem boring

When it became apparent many of the greatest athletes in the world were going to use Twitter to fill us in on their glamorous daily lives, sports fans everywhere became giddy about it.

Maybe Terrell Owens would instantly TwitPic an image from a Las Vegas hot tub filled with showgirls - or John Daly posts new song lyrics from a late night jam session with Kenny Chesney. Or Dwight Howard posts “just watched A.I. take 12 shots of Jager in an hour at the club!”

But for every time an athlete actually says something on Twitter of any substance, there are thousands of tweets that aren’t even worth our eyes.

Rather than fill us in with anything juicy, many of the athletes are tweeting the most boring parts of the day: “Getting ready to drive to the tournament” or “off to dinner” is a pretty typical post. Most of Natalie Gublis’ tweets are Twitpics from photo shoots. Of course, we’re not complaining there.

Probably the only reason athletes are worth following is that if you pester them enough, you can eventually get a reply from them, which is the closest many of us will ever get to meeting Shaq, Danica Patrick or whomever. John Daly replies to a significant amount of his followers.

So it appears that even though athletes are hooked on their “Crackberries” & laptops, they still don’t want a great deal of details revealed about their personal life. And while we’re getting unprecedented, instant access to them via Twitter, most of the “good stuff” is still kept in the inner circle.

Either that, or being a millionaire athlete is a lot more boring than we all thought.

Yeah I guess it's sort of a half full/half empty thing.

One could argue it's nice to know their lives can be/are as mundane as ours at any given moment.

But by God, if Natalie Gulbis stops sharing twitpics cuz of this I will find you Brandon Tucker...I will effing find you.

There are thousands of tweets that aren't even worth our eyes? Try millions. Heck, try BILLIONS. Twitter is the biggest hollow shell since Michelle Wie. Grow up, Brendan, no celebrity is going to tell you anything about how they really live.
