New Boyne Resort unlimited golf package includes free round on Top 100 beauty Bay Harbor in northern Michigan

Golf season is almost painfully around the corner in northern Michigan (my favorite golf destination in the entire world when looking for the unbeatable mix of quantity, scenery and value), and this summer golf package that just came across my desk should get a lot of golfers’ motors running to Michigan.

The Boyne resorts in northern Michigan, owners of several resorts and 162 holes of golf at several locations throughout the north, have put a great package together for those who love unlimited golf during Michigan’s long, summer days that extend well past 9 p.m. I’ve played 54 holes in one day before (at the Garland Resort) and had some daylight to spare - and it was about a month before the solstice.

Boyne’s “Gr8 Escape” package offers the following: unlimited golf on seven of their resort’s courses at both the Highlands and Mountain resorts, accommodations, breakfast and dinner daily, cocktail parties, $25 casino voucher at nearby Odawa Casino, unlimited practice and range balls, plus premium freebies like lessons, spa treatment, or 18-holes at Bay Harbor Golf Club, which is a Top 100 public golf course and considered in just about everyone’s Top 5 in Michigan.

But it is unquestionably one of the most scenic golf courses in the world you’ll ever play. It’s setting is wildly unique, with holes on bluffs high above Lake Michigan, holes playing through an old quarry and two holes playing shorefront. Click here for photos.

It’s also always been priced well above the normal northern Michigan golf course (where stay-and-play on the best courses never cost more than about $100-150), so getting the chance tee it up once free on this package is a great opportunity.

The seven other Boyne courses that offer unlimited golf are no slouch, either. I’ve played the Hills Course and the Donald Ross Memorial, a replica course which is great fun for the Ross enthusiast (and a great golf course in it’s own right). The Hills features one of northern Michigan’s finest downhill tee shots (Click here for photos).

I haven’t played the RTJ Sr.-designed Heather Course, also at Boyne Highlands, which was ranked in a Michigan reader poll recently as the state’s best golf course - and Michigan golfers have more options for golf than just about anywhere in the world.

Three night packages start at $555, five nights at $855 for the whole she-bang. If you’re appetite for Michigan summer golf has been wetted, visit www.Boyne.com for package details - or check out MichiganGolf.com for course reviews, features and more.
