hole in 1!
I feel bad about it, but not enough to pay the bar tab. . .
Jennifer’s blind shot eagle reminds me of a little prank me and some buddies pulled a few years back.
There’s a hole at our home course that is 250-yard par 4 dogleg left. If you hook your drive a little, it can roll up the hill and make the green. The 16th tee box is just steps away.
Players from the tee can’t see the green, or us.
So when we were teeing off and heard a ball from that green hit the flag stick, we turned around. The ball rolled onto the fringe.
Now, my friends and I weren’t exactly the most mature teenagers. I was a very serious golfer growing up, but still every few rounds I had the urge to engage in a few shenanigans the golf gods, or greenskeepers wouldn’t find amusing. . .I mentioned to my friends one of us should run down to the green and put the ball in the hole. . .I was half serious but my friends were determined to make me do it.
So I ran down, grabbed the ball and threw it in the cup and ran back up to the tee. We hung around to see their reaction and we even yelled down saying we saw the whole thing “Man! it just screamed across the green, hit the stick and dropped in! Unbelieavble!!”
I’m going straight to golf hell.
