Course revealed!

I didn’t single out the course because every course does this to my knowledge – Greens must be treated, its part of maintenance, but it also sucks it’s hardly ever made known until you’ve already forked over your cash. The course I played was Summerbrooke, down in Tallahassee, which is a decent course and was reviewed by Tim. I will go back again, just when the greens grow out. I wouldn’t say this is so much about bad conditions but more directly about maintenance and renovation.

Do I think Summerbrooke screwed me? I wouldn’t say so. Do I wish ALL golf courses gave out discounts for when they may be doing renovations, thus compromising the enjoyment of my round? Yes. Even Pebble Beach to my knowledge aerates their greens. If you forked over a grand to stay and play there, only to approach the first green filled with sand and holes, you’d feel screwed. My round on the otherhand was quite routine, but putting was certainly a chore.

I liken it to when you go to a busy restaurant, where a couple servers called in sick and all of the sudden you’re waiting a little too long for your food. That’s just part of the restaurant business, but what will keep you coming back is when the manager comes over, apologizes for the delay and buys you a round of beers for your patience. I guess that’s all I’m asking from ALL golf clubs, not just Summerbrooke.
