Golf Chick outlasts them all to be the No. 1 Golf Blogger Survivor!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls: We have a Golf Blogger Survivor Champion.

Golf Blogger Survivor was a game where bloggers got a secret, silly or strange word to put into their blog as seamlessly, or humorously as possible. Many thanks to all those who played, even Ron Mon, who was ridden off the island on a rail.

Looking back, here are some of my favorites:

Mark at Another Golf Website, showing his skills with the word “floccinaucinihilipilification:”

Golf Chick using the word “speculum” to describe Tiger Wood’s concentration over a putt:

“The Speculum Squat. What I would give to see through Tiger’s eyes. I wonder if the line of the putt actually glows on the grass for him.

Another Golf Website’s use of the word “gamine” was worthy of applause:

“Nike enjoys much success in the golf clubs world, but the limelight gets stolen by their drivers and irons. Compared to the likes of the Sasquatch driver, the putters sit in the chorus line … playing the gamine matchbox girl to the Slingshot’s rich heiress.

So, after tallying up the total votes, here’s what we had:

The final votes:

Golf Chick 3
Luke Swilor 3
The Golf Blogger 3
Another golf Web site 1
My Daily Slice 1
Ron Mon 1
(Controversially eliminated)
Mark Nessmith 1
(Controversially eliminated)

Golf Chick started out strong, and I’m sure most of us considered her a shoe-in for the title. Being a girl in a world of boys does have its advantages. The Golf Blogger was steady throughout, while Luke Swilor made a huge comeback at the end.

But in the end, it is a girl’s world. Showing her ability to be flatulant and avoid having floccinaucinihilipilification, she used her pen like a speculum to prove she’s no gamine.

Without further adieu, I present the first-ever Golf Blogger Survivor champion:

Golf Chick!!!

Aside from getting to keep the nifty logo, a future Blogger Leaderboard blog will be completely devoted to the lovely Miss Chick, as we’ll all get a little better look at the final Survivor.

So once again, everyone, thanks for playing! I’ve been told this contest would be chronicled in an upcoming made-for-TV movie, or possibly and E! “Behind the Blogger” special, but that remains to be seen.

An apology to those who missed out or were left behind. Nothing personal, just me being a ditz. But for all of you, let me just say: Keep blogging!

"Well, that looks an awful lot like a three way tie,"

Actually, it was a tie, so the final decision went to me.

Basically, the deciding factor came to this: With everything else being even, you pandered to your readers the best :)

Keep blogging,
Heather

Many congrats to Kristen for the deserved win. And thanks to Heather for coming up with such great secret words. It was fun. Ashamed to say I had to look them all up to find their meaning, except for "flatulent."

Good job GC. Very nice speech. Nice to know I'm not the only one that drinks before commenting. And for the prostitutes of the Acadamy, God Bless.

Heather (if thats your REAL name), kudos as well for the whole scheme. Sad to have missed out. grrrrr.

What a load of crap! You are all butt-kissing sycophants. Golf Chick was the only clown to beg her readers to vote for her in this event. NothingMan, you would have been chauvinistically eliminated with the rest of us XY chromosome-types, so don't worry about missing out on anything but the XX. EatGolf...pathetic. Luke, I think that your youth took you as far as it could. It was like Paula Abdul drooling over young American Idol contestants. Heather, who I believe is pushing 50, could not resist your youthful charms, cradle robber that she is. Remember, as Mike And The Mechanics said in their 1980s killer hit "The Living Years," It's the bitterness that lasts.
