To answer that age-old question “Wow, are they still doing that??” welcome to the second-to-the-last “blog-isode” of Golf Blogger Survivor!
When we last left our Survivors, there were just six of them left, and they were stranded with one final word to help decided the ultimate Golf Blogger Survivor. It appears just five have gotten in their final word, however (let me know if I missed yours Golf Punk).
That word: Gamine. As defined by Dictionary.com, gamine is: “An often homeless girl who roams about the streets; an urchin” or ” A girl or woman of impish appeal.”
Here are the efforts from the final five. For readers and fans, this will be your last chance to vote for your favorite, so make sure to make good use of the comments section below. I will announce the winner here next week!
Another Golf Website gets thoughtful when thinking of how Nike’s putters must feel (and hope you’re feeling better, Mark):
“Nike enjoys much success in the golf clubs world, but the limelight gets stolen by their drivers and irons. Compared to the likes of the Sasquatch driver, the putters sit in the chorus line … playing the gamine matchbox girl to the Slingshot’s rich heiress.
The Golf Blogger takes a look at Morgan Pressel’s near corporate nightmare:
“In her first LPGA tournament, rookie Morgan Pressel expected to be the Belle of the Ball; instead she was almost the gamine. She had lost her clothes. Or at least her shirts. When Pressel got to Hawaii last week, she discovered that she had left behind fifteen shirts provided to her via her new deal with Polo Ralph Lauren. All ready for the ball, and nothing to wear?”
Golf Chick describes a day at a charity golf tournament:
“We all had a great time out there and they raised a lot of money for the league. Of course, the kids in the league aren’t exactly Oliver Twist and his gamine harem. In fact, some of their parents could probably buy that golf course.”
My Daily Slice on the good the Shell Houston Open does for the community:
“She is one of three previously-gamine sisters, all of whom had been forced out of their house with their mother, for fear of their safety from an abusive relationship.”
Luke Swilor talking about a nice day prior to playing a tournament in Needles, Calif.:
“I won $210 today in a money game, then wandered around Laughlin like a gamine looking for a fix. I found it at the poker table where I won another $50 in a little over an hour. Good day. The game is in good shape, and I feel very confident heading into tomorrow.”
With her Blogger Leaderboard, Heather McMichael scans the web to bring WorldGolf.com readers the latest in what golf bloggers are saying about current news and events in golf, including PGA and LPGA Tour news, Tiger Woods, Michelle Wie and golf and travel destinations.
