The competition is lining up for Golf Blogger Survivor

Tuesday January 17, 2006 | 06:19:38 307 words, 1549 views

Oh, this whole little Golf Blogger Survivor escapade is just going delightfully. So, I suppose ‘tis time to make the official rules. Which, of course, are going to be simple and pretty flexible if need be.

First, for those of you that want to play, send me an e-mail to: heather@travelgolf.com (Basically so I will have your e-mails to send your secret word)

Then on Monday, I will send everyone their secret word. I’m wondering if everyone should have the same word, however, and I’m kind of leaning toward that, but please send your opinions. It would make it easier to judge, I believe.

Then, on the following Monday, I’ll send another word, and run a blog that highlights everyone’s usage of the word. Then over that week, everyone can place a vote for their favorite effort. This is where non-bloggers can participate, as their votes will also count. Voting criteria will include wittiness and ability to work the word best into the blog.

The contest will run for at least three rounds, then the Top-3 will have a one-word playoff blog (I’m quite enjoying this, by the way). The winner will receive – well, I’m still working on that.

So, while there’s still time to join, here’s who we have so far:

The Original Golf Blogger Survivors

Golf Chick
Ron Mon
The Undaunted Duffer
Golf Punk
Mark Nessmith
The Armchair Golfer
Luke Swilor

Now remember, while you can advise your readers of the contest and encourage them to vote, if you wish, but you must keep the secret word a secret. That would really seem to be the only important rule. But this is for fun and giggles, so all other rules can be modified depending on what you guys think.

But no matter what, happy blogging!

I'm not sure, Cal, but the more golf blogs there are, the better my job security :)

And I'll get you and everyone else in there Rich. Everyone better be ready for their secret word on Monday!

Have a fun weekend, golfing, blogging or both, everyone!
