Ah, the fresh air of WorldGolf.com, so much nicer here from the foul stench of one Cheap Bastard. That flame-haired miscreant has “bumped” into me far too often. Alas, lawyers must be involved.
But being here is so much better, with my new office and a shirtless assistant named Pablo. Yummy. I think I may just have to post more from my darling golf bloggers over here.

Golf bloggers are giving us all some advice on what clubs to use, and where to use them.
The Armchair Golfer gets some sound golf equipment advice from our favorite golfing blogger, Luke Swilor.
“It depends on how much you want to spend. The name brand clubs ARE much better than knock-offs, but as a beginner you don’t really need an expensive set to learn with. You probably wouldn’t notice a whole lot of difference. Once you get hooked you’ll want to get a better set, but a lot of used sets will do for now,” Swilor tells Armchair.
At Texas Golf, Bogey ...

As we head toward Christmas and New Years, a lot of golf bloggers are taking a break, so lets hear it for those that keep blogging away.
Over at Bogey Lounge, Bogeyman is talking about Callaway’s square FT-i driver, due out Feb. 15. I wonder if he’ll be more impressed with it than Golf Gear News’ Bruce Stasch seems to be.
GolfNomad is talking about some of his latest purchases, including a couple Scotty Cameron putters and some adorable clubhead covers.
Speaking of putting, Golfchick is singing the praises of the book “Putting Out of Your Mind” by Dr. Bob Rotella with Bob ...

Sometimes a girl doesn’t even need to leave home to find all the blogger news her little heart could hope for. That’s what the case is right now, as looking around at the TravelGolf.com and WorldGolf.com bloggers, I see lots happening.
First of all, I have been remiss in giving a warm welcome to WorldGolf’s newest blogger, the ruggedly handsome CB Maxwell. CB has been around golf for many years and brings his unique musings to these pages after becoming the first winner of the “Your Name Here” Blog Contest.
And it seems CB got a warm welcome from TravelGolf.com blogger ...

Our blogging-golfing friend Luke Swilor showed how far he’s come this week, but sadly, it wasn’t quite far enough. Luke missed the cut by just one shot at the 2006 PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament in Dayton, Nevada after closing out with a strong 69.
Here’s what Luke had to say:
“My 69 left me -4, one shot short of the qualifying number. More specifically one man short. I was T28th, top 27 and ties made it.
It’s hard to explain the depth of my frustration, but I’ve always got next year.”
Head on over to Luke’s blog, “Luke Swilor’s Road to the Tour” to ...

Golf bloggers had plenty of opinions on Europe’s dominant victory in the 2006 Ryder Cup.
The Grouchy Golfer is lamenting the lack of young U.S. talent after the European team shellacked them in Ireland.
“Sure, there’s Tiger, Phil and Furyk. But after that, the talent drops off a cliff,” writes the Grouchster.
The Armchair Golfer wonders if Americans are sore losers, but says we better get used to it, writing: ” Winning is no longer an American birthright – at least not in golf.”

Just thought I’d take a look at three good golf bloggers who always have something interesting to tell us all.

The Golf Nomad got to enjoy one of the great, unpublicized pleasures of being a golfer – going out as a single and getting put with three interesting golfers that are missing a fourth. This time, the Nomad found himself set up with three ...

Golf Chick has advanced a controversial theory that explains Tiger Woods’ success: That he is, in fact, a robotic changeling alien. And an adorable green one at that.

You see, when Ngang Autombo e-mailed me about the recent death of his uncle, the noted warlord Col. Gumbo Autumbo, and asked for my help in freeing up $16 million (US) held in a secret vault, I jumped at the chance.
After all, as my Mum told me: “Always trust Nigerians.” Mum was a bit of a drinker, however. So, after spending some time getting that worked out, I am a bit poorer and smarter about these e-mail scam things. So now it’s back to the bloggers.

Golf bloggers are busily typing away about everything from PGA players not understanding basic economics, to where to golf in Kentucky!
MattB makes nothing but sense at Golf Times when he questions if PGA Tour pros understand capitalism when they complain about Michelle Wie getting exemptions.

Well, Golf Blogger Survivors, it’s your final week. Some have been kicked off, some have wandered off, and some others (Ron Mon) bitterly despise us. Some even have played without joining (at least that’s what InstaMarv said about David Feherty). In the end, however, the final six are still standing and ready for their final words.
Here are the final six Survivors:
Golf Chick
The Golf Blogger
Golf Punk
Another Golf Website
Luke Swilor
My Daily Slice
Right now, it appears that Golf Chick has gotten the most votes, but The Golf Blogger has his fans, as well. With just one week left, everyone has had some great ...

When golf bloggers get together, what happens? Well, in the case of Luke Swilor and MediaGuru, you get six birdies and three eagles!
Seems the two got together for a round of golf, and while the professional Luke ended up winning, the Guru gave as well as he took.
“It was probably about 35 degrees when we teed off. We started on the back 9 first. We both reached the par 5 in two (I hit an easy 5 iron and Luke probably hit a wedge or 9). Luke was almost as shocked as I was when I rolled in about a ...

Week 3 of Golf Blogger Survivor is in the books, and now it’s up to reader’s and bloggers to figure out our top-5!
The ranks are getting smaller. Last week, Ron Mon and Mark Nessmith were hurled from our competition for being, well, themselves. This week, I seem to be unable to find the Secret Word from a couple Survivors and know at least one has withdrawn. So right now we seem to be down to six Survivors, which means we may may the final Top-5 into the final Top-6.
Which brings us to this week’s Secret Word: floccinaucinihilipilification
Floccinaucinihilipilification is the estimation ...

While Golf Blogger Survivors work to digest a word that’s a mouthful, what are other bloggers going on about?
Mulligan Stu is one of the bloggers thinking about Big Break V, and getting a laugh from how hard the show worked to show that all the girls playing are heterosexual.
“How often in the first 10 minutes of “The Big Break V” debut did the The Golf Channel show the female contestants remarking on the cuteness or hotness of Hawaiian men? By my rough count, 272 times.
The sexuality, for all the men watching, of the contestants thus established, the series was free ...

Hey everyone, welcome to Golf Blogger Survivor Round 2, dedicated to speading the love!
For the readers who didn’t catch on to week No. 2’s Secret Word, it is (drum roll) … Speculum! It’s a medical device that … oh, look it up.
So, the Week No. 2 results will hopefully accomplish two things: One, we will see who is still at the top of their game and we will see our first bloggers “Sent off the island.”
Golf Blogger Survivor: Week 2
Another Golf Web site on the hunt for discount golf equipment:
“You’ll need a speculum and rather long forceps to drag ...

While I’m off playing games, other golf bloggers are getting ignored. And let me just start with this – many of you that we feature at Worldwide Golf Blogs have been updating your blogs like crazy. Great work, everyone!
Bogey Man is one of a number of the bloggers to talk about the PGA Merchandise Show – but better yet, he actually got to go there! He should have blogs from what he learned there coming for quite some time.
Miranda at Even Par Round has a gripe about CBS’s TV coverage – which seems to be fine if all you care ...

There are times even yours truly can feel sheepish, and darn that Rich for making me feel that way.
Unless I’m mistaken, Ol’ Rich has shown how to think outside the box with the Golf Blogger Survivor first secret word – flatulent. I’m chagrined and impressed.
Rich has shown good thinking, however, something the Survivors will need with the Secret Word for Week 2, I believe. See if you can see how he snuck the secret word into his introduction to his Blog Roll.
Keeping with the spirit of my imperfection, I also missed The Golf Blogger’s Week 1 effort, which ...

Ok, Golf Blogger Survivors, here it is. As many readers likely guessed, the Secret Word for the week was – flatulent! Some great efforts, some not so great, and some bloggers missed the deadline entirely (for shame, Rich at Eat Golf.
Still, as I am not perfect (almost, but not quite) perhaps someone missed the all-important e-mail sent Monday or maybe I missed the blog, so let me know if any of you feel cheated in any way, and you can continue. Those who are continuing will have their second secret word in their e-mail today.
Remember, just three rounds, then one ...

There’s nothing quite like knowing about someone who’s gone off the deep end for golf and just can’t get enough time on the links. It’s even better when they write a blog about it.
Greg at New 2 Golf is one of these souls, and he’s keeping us update on his latest forays on the course. Seems he’s broke 90 now on a lower rated course, but more impressively, dropped his handicap to 27 after just seven months golfing.
Mulligan is one of the golf bloggers looking back at the Bob Hope Classic. Or, more precisely, looking at ABC’s salacious coverage of ...

Well, here I am playing games while golf bloggers keep chugging along. Shame on me.
The Sand Trap has put together a nice little piece on Tour Championship winner Bart Bryant, who’s seeing 20 years of struggle really pay off.
Miranda at Even Par Round gives her thoughts on the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and Abu Dhabi, and is impressed that Chris DiMarco has been reported to be playing in both.
Mulligan Stu is keeping his eye on David Duval at the Hope, and is rooting for him to stay consistant and keep his comeback rolling.
“If Duval can reach 85 percent of what ...

The TravelGolf.com Blog All-Star squad has recently gotten some new members.
Phil Mickelson’s personal trainer, Sean Cochran, is now on board. Sean, who is also a contributor on the PGA Tour’s Web site, will give readers some interesting tidbits on golf instruction and fitness, as well as an up-close look at the world of pro golf.
Seattle-area teacher and golf coach David Meyers is also on the team now, to share his views on the game, as well as breaking down the swings of such players as Vijay Singh, Sam Snead and Tiger Woods. Rumour has it he’s a scratch golfer with ...

Oh, this whole little Golf Blogger Survivor escapade is just going delightfully. So, I suppose ‘tis time to make the official rules. Which, of course, are going to be simple and pretty flexible if need be.
First, for those of you that want to play, send me an e-mail to: heather@travelgolf.com (Basically so I will have your e-mails to send your secret word)
Then on Monday, I will send everyone their secret word. I’m wondering if everyone should have the same word, however, and I’m kind of leaning toward that, but please send your opinions. It would make it easier to judge, ...

My dear golf bloggers, based on the philosophy of “Oh, why not,” I have come up with a little game for you all, and hope you’ll take part.
It’s a little ditty I like to call “Golf Blogger Survivor,” and I believe it will give us all a laugh or twelve. Now, here’s my fiendish little plan: Back when I was just a journalistic minnow, patiently awaiting for blogs to be invented, my mates and I would play a little game. We would challenge a writer to include an esoteric word in his or her story, regardless of the story.
So, if ...

While generally I prefer golf blogs from happy little hackers like Golf Chick, Undaunted Duffer and the Armchair Golfer, there’s still a place in my heart for those out there trying to make a buck or two from their golf blogging. A small place, but a place.
One that I must say I’m impressed with is the Golf Adventure Guides Blog. It seems Rob Babcock is trying to take his knowledge and experience of golf in Scotland and Ireland and make a little business from it, and I say bully for him.
Regardless of your opinions of the business end of blogs, ...

Golf bloggers are off to a good start in 2006, especially on the links. Luke Swilor keeps us abreast of his progress this year. He was frustrated with his putting, but managed to finish third at his tournament at Coral Canyon.
Over at Even Par Round, Miranda is one of the many golf bloggers weighing in on the Mercedes Championship. Seems she’s irked by bad announcing, though she thinks Jim Furyk will have a good year – he did a commercial, after all.
Finally, lets join Mediaguru by wishing his father a happy birthday. And lets hope he keeps whipping the Guru ...

Over at Bogey Lounge, Bogey Man tells you why you should care about the growth of golf in Asia. Sixty percent of the World’s population lives there, after all.
Miranda at Even Par Round starts the year in style by taking a look at the Mercedes Championship, and doesn’t seem upset that Tiger or Lefty won’t be there.
Speaking of Tiger, Mulligan Stu wants to have the same type of New Year’s resolution: Buying a $40-million home, then tearing it down.
The Armchair Golfer is looking to put his name in peril and hit the links more than twice in 2006. And the ...
