More proof that blogging about golf works: Golf Chick's 17-stroke improvement

Monday December 26, 2005 | 09:10:53 170 words, 1300 views

Golf bloggers are ending the year on a high note, and things should just keep on getting better.

First things first: Who else can match Golf Chick’s improvement on the links this year? My guess is, not many of you can.

Seems the Chick has seen her handicap go from 33 at the start of the year to 16 by the end. Seventeen strokes? I think we have a winner. Maybe the Chick can give Greg at New 2 Golf some pointers for 2006. If she can’t help, maybe he can try some of Golf on the Brain’s advice.

SirShanksAlot has done a service for golfers by looking at some of golf’s biggest equipment makers and what we can expect from them in 2006.

Finally, all the best wishes to bloggers everywhere, many of whom are offering their own holiday wishes. I suppose I’ll have to mention Grouchy above all, for the sole reason that he considers me “hot.” You see, friends, just because you are grouchy doesn’t mean you have to have bad taste.

Stroke average or %?

I know a ton of people who have reduced stroke average over 50%.

Both are equitable, in my mind.

Going from a 4 to 2 requires as much work as 33 to 17.

I would be VERY pleased to have similar results in the coming year. I now have enough rounds (20) to get an official handicap. I'll be joining a golf association and starting competetive play.

Golfchick has been an inspiration and I continue to enjoy reading hers and other golf-journal type bolgs.

Still searching for the 80s,
-Greg
