Folk songs, terrorist warnings have golf bloggers humming

From folk songs, to terrorist warnings, golf bloggers are going the extra mile.

The Armchair Golfer has seen his new streak of golf-less days hit 50, so he celebrated with folk song about John Daly, based on “John Henry, the Steel-Driving Man.”

John Daly was a golfer
He gripped and ripped and let fly,
“Tee ‘em up and swing from the heels,
I’ll out drive you or I’ll die.”

The poor dear may have gone batty, I’m afraid. Someone get a tee time for Armchair, ok?

Over at The Golf Blog, Mulligan does a good job to help us poor Tivo-less souls. He gives two thumbs up and a snap to The Golf Channel’s new documentary on Tiger Woods – Tiger Prints.

Finally, MJ on Golf passes the word on the inevitability of a terrorist attack at Emerald Hills Golfland in San Jose, Ca., – at least according to the feds.

Maybe it seems odd that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has picked out an obscure, West Coast mini-golf establishment as the scene of a future terrorist attack, but apparently the Patriot Act is supposed to keep people from questioning the decision.

Luckily, San Jose Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren hasn’t appeared to have read the Patriot Act, and she wants to make sure San Jose mini-golfers feel secure at Emerald Hills.

“Is there something we should know about terrorism and miniature golf?” Lofgren said. “I was assured no, residents of the South Bay can play miniature golf without fear from a homeland security point of view.”
