Golf bloggers break in new clubs, break records and blog about blogging

Wednesday October 12, 2005 | 07:41:47 am 213 words, 1401 views

The golf bloggers of the world, apparently stunned by John Daly’s unsettling missed putt, have taken to the course themselves recently.

First, I feel it’s time to throw down the gauntlet to Golfchick. While we want to congratulate her new low score of 86 (after finishing par, birdie, par, bogey, bogey, par, bogey), we also want to let her know that, in light of her becoming a better and better golfer, the next congrats she receives from this blog will be when she breaks 80. That should be all the incentive you need, Chick!

Rich is talking about his new driver over at Eat Golf. It’s a Titleist 983E he got on Ebay for $125 and he appears really excited about it. And thanks for the mention in your blog, Rich, but no, I will not be a party to blogging about someone blogging about my blogging about their blogging. That would just be silly.

For that matter, I refuse to blog about Media Guru blogging about someone blogging about … oh, never mind. But I will blog about Media’s friend Al, who got a hole in one recently – his Seventh! This is unbelievable, though no word if a few of those came on putt-putt courses. But it’s not that easy there, with those windmills, and all.

The 6th hole in one Al got I happened to witness. This was no putt-putt. 238 yards into a heavy wind. He hits DRIVER and gets a hole in one...

Yes, as you mentioned I was unsettled by JD's miss. But unlike others, I haven't take to the course. It's day 159 without golf, kinda sad, especially since it's also my b-day.

Thanks, Heather. Judging from other people's experiences, the 70s will be far more elusive. I'm prepared to wait and earn my next congrats for you. After all, that's almost as good an incentive as the accomplishment itself. I hope you have a long term contract here on the leaderboard!
