Lets start the week off with an update on our old friend Lucas, the young golfing prodigy who is using his stylish swing to help raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. PantherGirl lets us know he’s now raised more than $1,300 thus far, and after a stint on the CBS Saturday Early Show, he’s upped his goal from $1,000 to $15,000. Seeing what he’s done so far, it seems very possible. Keep swinging, Lucas!
Erik J. Barzeski gives a few tips for speeding up play. He emphatically promotes a couple notorious time-wasting moves: not tending the flag and talking on the cell phone.
Finally, Golf Punk lets us know why they’re golfing in Swaziland – the King told them to. No, not Elvis, but King Mswati III. It seems his royal highness has gone where the first two King Mswati’s feared to tread – to the golf course. And now he wants his countrymen to do the same, and he helped them along by creating the Kings Cup tournament.
“Our minds will be refreshed after participating in this tournament. We will go back to work on Monday with healthy and bright minds because we were able to relax through participating in this tournament,” said the King, who could probably just take Monday off if he likes, being a king and all.
